Terms of Service

Last updated:

These terms of service ("Terms") govern your use of the Veriso website (veriso.art), the Veriso iOS and Android apps, the Veriso browser extension, Veriso inside AI assistants, and the related services (together, the "Service"), provided by Sharon Chicheportiche (Veriso), Khaviva reik 1, Ramat Gan 5252510, Israel, VAT 328971585 ("Veriso", "we").

By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Service.

1. What Veriso does

Veriso analyses photographs of artworks with artificial intelligence and reference data to suggest a possible artist, read signatures and inscriptions, estimate a period and medium, and give an indicative value range, together with comparable sales and next steps.

Veriso is not an appraisal, a certificate of authenticity, an insurance valuation or an offer to buy. Results are automated, informational opinions based only on the photos and details you provide. They can be wrong, especially when photos are unclear or a work is undocumented. Always confirm with a qualified specialist (auction house, gallery, certified expert) before any purchase, sale, insurance or legal decision.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use Veriso, and old enough to consent to data processing in your country (15 in France); below that age, a parent or guardian must accept these Terms for you. To buy a subscription you must be an adult with legal capacity to contract.

You are responsible for the information you give us being accurate, for keeping your password confidential and for activity on your account. Tell us promptly at support@veriso.art if you think your account has been compromised.

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings, and download your data at /account/export.

3. Plans, payment and cancellation

Veriso offers a free tier with a limited number of analyses and paid subscriptions, billed monthly or annually, described with their current prices on the pricing page. Prices include applicable VAT where required.

Subscriptions are sold through Paddle.com Market Ltd, our merchant of record, which processes the payment, issues the invoice and handles sales tax. Paddle's buyer terms apply to the payment itself. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.

You can cancel at any time from your account settings or the billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period already paid.

Refunds and right of withdrawal. You can request a full refund within 14 days of your first payment, as described in our refund policy. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also have a 14-day right of withdrawal from a distance contract; by asking us to start providing analyses during that period, you agree that the service begins immediately, and an analysis already fully delivered cannot be withdrawn from (French Consumer Code art. L221-28).

If a payment fails, we and Paddle may retry it and send you reminders; if it still fails, your account may return to the free tier.

4. Your photos and content

You keep all rights to the photos and information you upload. You grant Veriso a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process and transmit them, including to the providers listed in our privacy policy, for as long as needed to provide the Service, keep your history, and improve and secure the Service as the privacy policy describes. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law.

You confirm that you have the right to upload your content and that it does not infringe anyone's rights (copyright, image rights, privacy). Photographing a work you own is generally allowed; publishing images of a protected work may require the artist's or their estate's permission.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • upload illegal content, content you have no right to share, or images of people without their consent;
  • use Veriso to commit fraud, for example to produce fake provenance, mislead a buyer or present a Veriso result as a certificate or expert appraisal;
  • circumvent usage limits, create multiple accounts to obtain free analyses, or resell access to the Service without our agreement;
  • scrape, overload, reverse-engineer or attack the Service, or access it by automated means other than our published APIs and AI-assistant integrations within their limits;
  • use the Service to train or benchmark a competing product.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these rules, after warning you where possible.

6. Third-party services

Some features rely on services you choose to use: signing in with Google or Apple, creating eBay listing drafts, emailing auction houses or galleries, or using Veriso in ChatGPT, Claude or other AI assistants. Their own terms apply, and we are not responsible for their content, availability or decisions (for example whether an auction house replies or accepts a work).

7. Veriso's intellectual property

The Service, its software, design, texts, databases and the Veriso name and logo belong to Veriso or its licensors. You may use reports generated for you for your own purposes, including sharing them with potential buyers, experts or insurers, as long as you do not alter them in a misleading way or remove the notice that they are AI-assisted opinions.

8. Availability and changes to the Service

We work to keep the Service available and accurate but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, add or remove features. If we make a change that significantly reduces a paid plan, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel and receive a refund for the unused part of a prepaid period.

9. Liability

Because results are indicative opinions, you remain responsible for the decisions you make with them (buying, selling, insuring, transporting or restoring an artwork). To the extent permitted by law, Veriso is not liable for indirect loss, loss of opportunity or a sale price that differs from an estimate, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or gross negligence, or any right you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by contract, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services (French Consumer Code art. L224-25-12 et seq.).

10. Termination

You can stop using Veriso and delete your account at any time. We may terminate these Terms or suspend your account for a serious breach, or if required by law. On termination, your data is handled as described in the privacy policy (retention section).

11. Personal data

Our privacy policy explains how we process your personal data, which providers we use, how long we keep data and how to exercise your rights. It forms part of these Terms.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service or the law. The "Last updated" date shows the current version. For a material change, we will notify signed-in users by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect; if you do not agree, you can close your account and, for a paid plan, receive a refund for the unused part of a prepaid period. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the new Terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence.

If you have a complaint, please contact us first at support@veriso.art. If we cannot resolve it, consumers can refer the dispute free of charge to a consumer mediator, whose details we will give you on request at support@veriso.art (French Consumer Code art. L611-1 et seq.). Failing an amicable solution, disputes go to the competent French courts, or for consumers, the courts provided by law.
